REQUIREMENTS:

I strongly recommend that you purchase books that cover this topic. I started collecting G.I. gear in 1988 when I bought my M-1 rifle and it hasn't stopped yet! There wasn't much material written about the subject back then. Basically, one had to rely on pictures or anothers knowledge. The latter proved to be inaccurate at times. Now, there are a number of books available one can use as a guide to find what was worn and used during the period. The following are some good rescource books that I found to be helpful.

Clothing

The American Soldier by Philip Katcher

U.S. Army Uniforms of WWII by Shelby Stanton

Doughboy to G.I. by Kenneth Lewis

U.S. Army Handbook 1939-1945 by Goerge Forty

As far as prices go; I won't list any becuase they vary. If you do some research prior to any purchase you will be able to find some good bargains at local flea markets or garage sales.
